The Grandson (or daughter) letter box
It’s February 2021 and I’m trying to participate in InCoWriMo this year… because somehow I heard of it and I liked the idea. I personally just call it LeWriMo for short. And that’s International Correspondence Writing Month and Letter Writing Month for those of you who haven’t heard these strange names before.
On the official InCoWriMo site, there’s a thread for people to drop their addresses to write to each other and on there I discovered this lovely website that made me so excited! It’s LettersAndJournals.com. What more could you ask for?
I just finished reading her post on The Grandson Letter Box (click here to read) and just thought the idea was such a good one, I had to share. With a new grandbaby (our first) to love, I’m going to incorporate her idea starting with this one and do it for all my future grandkids too. In fact I kind of started early on when I found out my daughter was pregnant. I used one of my traveler’s notebooks inserts (in my b6 slim folio from Chic Sparrow) and started writing little entries to my grandbaby right then and there. She’s 9 months old now and I write maybe once a week or so…just little tidbits on what her mom sends via text, or things happening with us that might interest her when she’s older. I’ll hang onto that in my box until I want to send it in a letter to her when she’s old enough to read and understand it. That may be a while!
Anyway, I love the idea of a special box with papers and stickers and stamps and things for the kids to send back correspondence to me or to others. SUCH a great idea! Thanks Jackie!
